Planning to apply to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and start on campus this fall?
These programs require you to submit materials in addition to the freshman application checklist or transfer application requirements:
- Aviation Management
- Dental Hygiene
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Radiologic Sciences
After applicants to these programs have been admitted to the University, you will receive information and instructions from your academic department. Students who want to pursue a teacher education program should refer to the current SIU Undergraduate Catalog for application procedures and certification information.
These programs require you to undergo a screening process in addition to the freshman application checklist or transfer application requirements:
- Automotive Technology
- Aviation Flight
- Aviation Management
- Business and Administration
- College of Engineering
- Dental Hygiene
- Music
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Radiologic Sciences
The following majors permit new students to enter in the Fall semester only:
- Architectural Studies - Major course rotations begin each Fall; students admitted in Spring or Summer take non-major courses (core curriculum prerequisites or electives) until the Fall.
- Dental Hygiene - Fall start for on-campus only. Students can enroll in the online BS degree completion program throughout the academic year.
- Fashion Design and Merchandising - Major course rotations begin each Fall; students admitted in Spring or Summer take non-major courses (core curriculum prerequisites or electives) until the Fall.
- Interior Design - Major course rotations begin each Fall; students admitted in Spring or Summer take non-major courses (core curriculum prerequisites or electives) until the Fall.
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Radiologic Sciences - Fall start for on-campus only. Students can enroll in the online BS degree completion program throughout the academic year.
- Mortuary Science and Funeral Service Major course rotations begin each Fall; students admitted in Spring or Summer take non-major courses (core curriculum prerequisites or electives) until the Fall.
- Nursing - Major course rotations begin each Fall; students admitted in Spring or Summer take non-major courses (core curriculum prerequisites or electives) until the Fall.
