Application and Admission Requirements for Transfer Students
To be considered for admission, transfer applicants must submit:
- An Application for Admission and Scholarships
- $30 non-refundable Application Fee. (Application fee waivers are available to students who meet certain income requirements. See your high school or community college guidance counselor for information.).
- Current official transcripts of each college attended (in official sealed envelope).

If you have completed less than 26 semester hours or 39 quarter hours of transferable credit you must send, in addition to your official college transcripts, your ACT/SAT scores and an official high school transcript (in official sealed envelope) that includes your class rank.
To be admitted, transfer applicants must:
- Have 26 transferable semester hours or 39 quarter hours and a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (as calculated by
SIUC grading policies).
- If less than 26 transferable hours are acquired, you must have a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (as calculated by SIUC grading policies) and also meet Freshman Admission Requirements.
An additional step or screening process is required for certain programs. Requirements for direct entry into some programs exceed university admission requirements. Please be sure to read the Special Conditions section.
