It is never too late to return to college. No matter why you’ve been away. No matter why you want to return. At SIU, we’ll go out of our way to make sure nothing stands in yours.  

Veterans We’ll do everything we can to make your transition from the military to the University as seamless and hassle-free as possible. In fact, Military Times Edge rates SIU second on its national Best for Vets Colleges list.

Returning Students Welcome back! If you’ve been away from college long enough that the collegiate environment seems intimidating, you’ve come to the right place. SIU is recognized for diversity, friendliness, and accessibility as well as for research and intellectual achievement.  

If you have previously attended SIU, we have your original records and your SIU work on file. Reenrolling is easy. 

If you are returning to college, but you are new to SIU, here’s where you can apply online. You can also explore non-traditional student housing options or on-campus employment. 

Non-degree Students If you’re looking for deeper knowledge or a broader experience but not a formal degree, the Division of Continuing Education offers several options, including Teacher Recertification.
